I'm happy to report I've checked another sushi spot in Des Moines off my list. This time I hit up the newer Wasabi Tao in the Kirkwood Hotel on 4th and Walnut downtown. I had heard good things about it, but I was a little disappointed. The sushi wasn't bad; nothing blew me away. To be fair, it has big big shoes to fill after I absolutely feel in love with Sakura in WDM last month. If I'm downtown and craving sushi again, I'll probably take the extra time to go over to Miyabi 9 in the East Village. I will say though, the decor is very cool. It's the same set up as Quatro, which was the last restaurant in that space, but the decor is very cool with an Asian flair.
