Getting back in triathlon shape has been hard, to say the least. On July 15 I signed up for a sprint tri on September 15. I (foolishly) thought that two months would be just enough time to get in shape. I (foolishly) forgot that last year when I got ready for a triathlon in six weeks, I had just completed the Tough Mudder. My stamina is nowhere near where it was last year. Today I ran three miles for the first time since last August. That's so sad. There's a very hilly three-mile loop around my neighborhood. I didn't do it fast by any means, I got a mad side cramp, and I walked a minute in the middle. Six weeks to go and lots of work to do!
