Most of you know by now that I was born in Creston, Iowa. I was an Iowa for the first six years of my life. Now, after living here for 2.5 years, I have finally decided to make it official. Well, to be truthful, it was in no way my decision. I was pulled over a month ago for speeding. The officer let me off with a warning but told me I was supposed to have gotten my license within 30 days of moving here and now I'd have to pay a $90 fine.
I figured it was time to give up my Missourian status anyway. So after an hour and a half a the Driver's License station in Ankeny, I became an Iowan 20 years after I'd give up the designation to become an Illinoisan.
