Celine is our new 2012 Hyundai Sonata. Her shimmering navy blue exterior, long lines, and sharp black and camel interior make for one sleek ride. Unfortunately, the two vehicles Lucas and I have been driving are older and repairs keep coming up. Instead of continuing to dump money into them we decided to trade one in to buy something new. It's amazing how little vehicles are worth once they get older than five years. We picked the Sonata based on safety, affordability, style, and fuel efficiency. Her estimated mileage is 28 mpg city and 35 mpg highway. That is more than double what Lucas could get on his truck. So while the monthly payment is a little higher, the gas bills will be cut in half - saving us money overall.
We bought Celine from Stew Hansen's Hyundai, which was actually a pretty good experience. My one and only experience buying a car was five years ago with my dad. At one dealership, It was a very high pressure situation. The sales guy kept going back to his boss trying to talk up the price and haggle with me. We didn't end up buying there. The next place was more laid back, and we ended up buying there. At Stew's, Alen was very knowledgable. He even got us *more on our trade-in than we asked for. That's unheard of and was a very pleasant surprise. Also, it was good to buy from a Hyundai dealership because they are the only ones who can certify a pre-owned Hyundai and offer the same warranty as a new vehicle.
