I don't like scary movies. I'm talking about the bloody, gory ones like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Halloweens. Sure, it's very unlikely some guy is going to kill me and wear my skin, but it's creepy as hell. Well, I told Lucas I'd watch any movie he wanted. He came back with Apollo 18 that came out last year. It's in the Found Footage genre where all the video was shot by the characters as they were exploring moon. It was very suspenseful but never really had a huge climax. For not liking scary movies, I thought I handled it pretty well by jumping only 2 or 3 times. However, I was proved wrong when I couldn't sleep all night because I kept replaying the movie in my dreams. Thanks Lucas.

I have been wanting to go paddle boating forever. OK, by forever, I really mean three months. You can paddle boat at Gray's Lake for $5 for a half hour and $10 for an hour. That's a steal! Saturday was a warm day that needed to be taken advantage of. Lucas and I jumped in the paddle boat and took off around the lake. It was a slow moving ride, of course, but enjoyable nonetheless. I love taking in all of what the metro has to offer. One of the other fun things offered here... pole fitness. For my birthday, my girlfriends got together for a session at Kees Camp Pole Fitness Studio in West Des Moines. It was a blast. Not only is it a crazy workout, but it's fun and sure mixes up my boring regiment of run, bike, swim. They offer weekly classes for pole fitness as well as other workout classes. If only I didn't work evenings...
