Munchkin is the type of game I don't like. It requires you to do a lot of math, follow a lot of rules and remember all the exceptions to the rules. It almost seems as though the creators were on a mission to make a confusing game; congratulations to them on a successfully completing their mission. A few hands through the game, I finally started getting the hang of it. I still wasn't liking it so I kindly excused myself from the table and went to hang out with my two-year-old niece who was much more exciting. I wasn't the only one at the time confused and somewhat bored. The others played on though trying to give the game more of a shot than I did.
Then there was my husband. This type of game is exactly what my husband likes to play: tactical and mythical. It's almost like a video game as players must defeat monsters to get to the next level. All the rules and exceptions, cards and money, were exciting to him. I'm sure he'd be more than willing to play again. As for me, I'll stay at the kids' table.
