As my baby bump continues to grow, it's really starting to impact my day-to-day and night-to-night. I can no longer squat normally. If I need to bend down to get something off the floor, my belly gets in the way. I've also knocked my stomach into tables several times as I go to sit down. I'm not used to having to pull the chair out so far. And at night, I usually roll all over the place. I haven't been sleeping on my stomach for three months, but now I am no longer able to sleep on my back. Spud is getting big enough that I've waken up with back pains. I know you shouldn't sleep on your back, but it's extremely hard for me to stay on my left side all night. It's also getting difficult to be intimate because there's no denying - or hiding - there's a baby in there. And that's just weird.
Plus, Spud got his first Christmas gifts including some adorable onesies and overalls, a book called Darth Vader and Son (clearly for Lucas) and a portable bassinet/swing. This is just the beginning of the onslaught of stuff we will soon accumulate. I am continuing to work on the baby registry while plans of baby showers are in motion.
Week 26 Preview
I really need to get to the maternity store this week. My jeans and dress slacks haven't fit for a couple weeks. I had the last two weeks off work so I got away with strutting leggings and sweats every day. Now that I"m back at work, I gotta leave the sweats at home.
Baby Bump
I've gained 15 pounds now (hopefully not too much of that is from indulging over the holidays) and am very hopeful to only gain 10 more. That may be wishful thinking! This picture sure makes me look like I'm carrying high. I guess I don't mind if I'm carrying high or low; I'm thankful I'm carrying all in front.
