Alex Cross is a detective who turned in his badge to open his own psychology practice. Years after his wife was gunned down in front of him, he gets a call from his old colleague who's working on a serial rapist/murderer case in Washington, D.C. After agreeing to help on the case, Cross soon learns this main suspect in the case could also be his wife's murderer.
The audio book is read by two narrators - one for Alex Cross' side of the story and one for Michael Sullivan's story. I've heard some not-so-great narrators, but both of these guys are really good and make the story very easy to listen to. Plus, this is the first audio book I've heard use music and sound effects, which aren't necessary but add a little suspense or tension when needed.
