Lucas and I are so excited to announce Spud is a... boy! We had our 20-week appointment this past week. Getting the ultrasound was pretty fun. Spud has grown quite a bit since his last ultrasound at 8 weeks. The appointment also included checking Spud's brain, head size, neck thickness, torso size, heart function, liver function and length of arms and legs. The doctor had no concerns! I'm so thankful Spud is a healthy little boy! We also received several 3D images of Spud. Holy moly - those are crazy! The technician said we got really good images due to Spud's position at the time. We were excited to show them off to family and friends over the holiday.
Now that we know Spud is a boy, I'm ready to get to work on the nursery. While the room will be somewhat gender neutral (for future kiddos), we can add some touches that are more boyish. I'm also pumped to get the crib set up. Thanks to my amazing friend for giving us her beautiful crib that her kiddos have outgrown. Glad I could get it out of her hair!
Lucas and I haven't discussed baby names for weeks. We aren't on the same page - or really in the same book - when it comes to names. At least now we only have to discuss boy names - that will alleviate a few arguments! When we agree to a name, we'll start letting people know. Until then, Spud it is!
Baby Bump
I swear Spud is growing as we speak. My belly is finally growing and will probably grow pretty fast from here on out. It's pretty normal to gain about one pound a week until Spud arrives. If I follow that, I'll only put on 20 lbs, which wouldn't be terrible. We'll see!
